The Low Carbon Renovation Model (LCRM) Dynamic Map aims to promote the successful implementation of low-carbon renovation interventions with all stakeholder groups involved in the process, i.e., from developer to tenants, by combining technical, environmental, and user parameters.

In the format of digital tool, it is designed to support the application of the INPERSO Retrofit-Kit, strategically lowering disruption during renovation process and the relevant costs, while addressing the performance gap in renovation projects. It also includes a Human-centred Smart Tech Renovation guide, that by prioritizing user engagement,

this guide aims to create a positive experience for individuals interacting with these technologies during the renovation process as well as afterwards. The ultimate goal is to foster a user-friendly approach that encourages the widespread adoption of smart solutions in the renovation sector.

Objectives

Within the INPERSO project, the Low Carbon Renovation Model (LCRM) aims to support renovation decisions through the combination of technical, environmental, and user parameters.

Work Carried Out So Far & Milestones Achieved

A consolidated version of the LCRM Dynamic Map tool has been completed as per the progress of the renovation works in the different Demo Cases, based on a variety of inputs such as interactions with different stakeholders and building users in each Demo Case.

Remaining Work

The remaining work consists of further refinement based on the completion of the renovation works in each Demo Case at the end of the project. Results from the Post-Occupancy Evaluation phase will help refine the current version further to address potential performance gaps in the future.

Expected Impact

The use of the LCRM Dynamic Map will guide different stakeholders in their attempt to reduce costs during the renovation process from the design to the commissioning phase as well as positive environmental impacts related to the reduction on energy consumption, reuse of material and enhancement of the building lifespan.
