INPERSO Gathers for Its 8th General Assembly

The INPERSO project reached another milestone last week with the successful completion of its 8th General Assembly, held online on 22 May 2026. Partners from across the consortium came together to take stock of progress, align on next steps, and look ahead to the project's final stretch, though with any luck, the next meeting will bring us back together in person.

A central topic of discussion was the project extension now formally in force. INPERSO will run for a total of 61 months, with a new end date of 31 July 2027. The extension is not simply additional time: it is an opportunity to ensure that the work carried out across the demonstration cases translates into robust, credible evidence. The consortium is committed to completing technology commissioning, validating results, and building the kind of solid knowledge base that will serve researchers, industry, and policymakers well beyond the project's lifetime.

Partners are excited to continue monitoring performance across the demonstration sites, capturing data through summer and winter periods alike, and turning the results of months of careful work into meaningful, measurable outcomes. The evidence gathered during this final phase will be the foundation for everything from scientific publications and industry uptake to future funding pathways.

There is much still to do, and the energy in the room — virtual as it may have been — was very much that of a consortium ready to deliver. The next General Assembly is tentatively planned for the end of 2026. Here's hoping we can all be in the same room for it!
