Advancing Deep Renovation Through Collaboration: Site Visit to Pilot Case #2

On February 17th, the INPERSO Project took another significant step forward in its mission to revolutionize deep renovation. Our partners from DEMO Consultants visited the project’s second pilot case: the historic Kloosterkasteel Bronckhorst, to review the installation progress of smart devices. The collected data will be integrated into RE Suite and visualized in the RE Dashboard to support informed decision making.

Where History Meets the Future

Kloosterkasteel Bronckhorst isn’t just a building; it’s a monument with a rich history of evolution. Today, it serves as a primary example of how the full lifecycle of a building can be reimagined. Supported and advised by Monumentenwacht Noord-Brabant (MWNB), this site is being transformed into a model of sustainability through:

  • Sun windows and Solar roof tiles for renewable energy generation.

  • Smart facades and Improved ventilation systems for climate control.

  • Innovative, non-invasive solutions tailored for monumental structures.

The Power of Collaboration

A project as ambitious as INPERSO—which combines industrialization with deep personalization, cannot succeed in a vacuum. This visit highlighted the essential role of cross-disciplinary collaboration.

These "on-the-ground" discussions allowed the team to gain invaluable insights into the technologies already in place. By bringing together diverse technical expertise at the pilot site, we are able to map out the next steps with precision, ensuring that the theory of the lab translates perfectly to the reality of the construction site. This synergy is exactly what drives the project's success.

Data-Driven Decisions with RE Suite

A major highlight of the visit was discussing the integration of the RE Suite. This platform will serve as the project’s central data hub, acting as the bridge between smart devices and the end-user. By providing a seamless user interface, RE Suite enables informed, data-driven decision-making that optimizes building performance without sacrificing its heritage value.
