Stakeholders’ engagement in INPERSO

INPERSO aims to carry out a holistic deep renovation process that not only involves a specific punctual intervention to improve the physical conditions of the building, but also seeks the involvement of all the intervening stakeholders, especially the end users of the building. The goal is to facilitate a transformation that enhances their daily behavior and how they interact with the building. To meet this objective, IVE has elaborated and shared with all the project partners the methodology for the involvement of end users and all stakeholders who intervene in the day-to-day of the building to improve their awareness of energy efficiency and circularity to achieve the best performance possible of the renovated buildings. Different activities have been held for each demonstration case to start the process as part of the engagement process. Each demonstration case has its distinct characteristics:

- Residential building with heritage status in Valencia, Spain (DC#1). Meetings with the residents are important not only to make them aware of the importance of such renovations, but also to integrate their views in the design process.

- Culture heritage buildings, the Trinity Complex, in Velp, the Netherlands (DC#2). The first engagement session had the objective to inform residents, resident representatives and parties directly involved, about the INPERSO project, the planned renovation of the rooms, the benefits of the intended renovation, permission for installing the sensors and provide a general update.  Constructive criticism obtained during this session contributed to the thought process for the retrofit phase.

- Social Shelter in Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, Greece (DC#3). The INPERSO project, the renovation to be addressed and the benefits for the end users were explained to residents and staff of the building. Useful information and interesting suggestions regarding the building as well as the living and working conditions were obtained for the renovation process.

These initial activities will be further complemented throughout the entire renovation process, which includes pre-retrofit, during-retrofit, and post-retrofit phases.
