INPERSO Insights: Smarter Renovation Strategies

UPV has been working in different project tasks. Starting with the development of the 3D printing system along with VIAS, ITAINNOVA and CARTIF, for which the definition of the most suitable materials and technological implementations are under discussion.

In another task, an in-depth review of the planned monitoring activities has been carried out before the beginning of the technology implementation face, this is important for the correct functioning of the INPERSO retrofit kit and to properly measure its performance through the project KPIs.

Based on this work, a scientific article presented by UPV has been accepted for the “10th Euro-American Congress” that will take place in May 2024 in Gijón, Spain. The article focuses on methods of analysis, planning and the implementation of construction rehabilitation, maintenance, and management strategies for existing buildings.

The article is titled “Measuring the influence of industrialisation in deep energy renovations: A three-case study utilising key performance indicators (KPIs)” and gathers the preliminary experience obtained from INPERSO in the adoption and re-evaluation of commonly used performance indicators for the improvement and speed-up of deep energy renovations in the construction field.

In this article, the selected classification structure of KPIs in INPERSO is introduced, as well as the primary concern topics such as performance gap and human approach of the project, which are core driving topics within the project.

Finally, UPV and CORE IC have been working on aligning the EU taxonomy objectives to the project using KPIs, this will help improve the environmental impact of the project and all the technologies.
